The Fifield Kitchen Design and Inspiration
While the Fifield family is excited for all aspects of their newly-built home, the kitchen is probably the one they can’t stop dreaming about. They call them kitchen parties for a reason; everyone always ends up in the kitchen. It’s truly the heart of the home.
With that, here’s a little behind-the-scenes look into what Ann-Marie has planned for their kitchen.
Design Style
They went with Traditional Farmhouse style. They love all the Modern Farmhouse trends you see these days, but always tend to lean towards a more traditional design with some hints of modern accents added throughout.
The inspiration behind this kitchen design really came from the location. This home is situated on an acreage surrounded by mountain views, fields, and horses, so naturally the location really has that farmhouse feel.
They didn’t want to go too trendy, so are keeping the design of the home and kitchen within a neutral palette range, including touches of blue.
When designing this space, they knew it had to be just as functional as it was beautiful. After all, a lot takes place in a kitchen.
The Details
They started this kitchen design around the hood fan and range. Ann-Marie loves an oversized hood fan that has a simple yet elegant design.
From there, they knew we had to include Ann-Marie’s dream sink.
In fact, this sink is the first thing they bought for the house!
As a family who loves to entertain, their island is going to be very large. Jason is the most excited for this island, and he just knows it’s going to be stunning, with its large posts and furniture kick detail.
As much as Ann-Marie loves an all-white kitchen, living with two boys she knew she needed an island that could take some abuse. Enter Oak. Oak is timeless, ages well, and will withstand our two boys.
Jason loves incorporating glass as a surprising element in kitchens, so on the range wall, they’ll have a large ceiling-to-counter glass cabinet, as well as glass-stacked upper cabinets with lighting.
Storage and Accessories
The family loves a seamless design, which is why their fridge and dishwasher are panel-ready. On top of that, they’re incorporating Blumotion soft close hinges and full-extension under-mount drawer slides.
They’ll have the full Heronwood garbage and recycling centre, appliance lifts, pantry rollouts, spice drawers, cutlery dividers, and sink cabinet roll out.

Finishes
In keeping with the Traditional Farmhouse design style, the walls surrounding the kitchen will be painted in Benjamin Moore’s Cloud White, and the island is going to be stained Oak to match the colour of the flooring.
They’re covering the range and surrounding area in Flo Forms Montauk Quartz, as Ann-Marie just adores the veins and texture it brings to the space.
All of their appliances are coming from Coast Appliance. Taking inspiration from the beloved Jillian Harris and Fraiche Living, Ann-Marie landed on this gorgeous range.
Ann-Marie loves to cook, so they knew they needed a stove that could handle that.

Their Kitchen Dreams
