For over 20 years, Heronwood has designed, constructed, and installed custom kitchens throughout Vancouver Island. We are seeking an experienced, self-motivated, and detail-oriented Cabinet Shop Sawyer/Cabinet Maker to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for woodworking, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to craft high-quality cabinetry. This role requires proficiency in various woodworking techniques and the ability to work with a range of materials.

Job Qualities/Responsibilities

  • Experience operating a panel saw and table saw

  • Ability to construct custom hood fans, islands, and specialty millwork projects

  • Skilled in cabinet assembly

  • Ability to read and interpret design plans

  • Strong math skills

  • Proficiency in reading a tape measure accurately

  • Must be able to lift 60 pounds

  • Maintain an organized and clean workspace

  • Experience using hand tools

  • Communicate job progress and timelines to the foreman

  • Collaborate with the team to meet production goals and deadlines

Kitchen Designer

Heronwood has designed, constructed and installed custom kitchens throughout Vancouver Island for over 10 years. Heronwood is looking for an experienced, self-motivated and detail-oriented Kitchen Designer/ Sales Consultant to join our team. You will work closely with clients and builders to create and design new functional and aesthetic spaces for homeowners. You will be responsible for the design, 3D renderings using software, and pre-production development of the cabinetry drawings.

Job Qualities/Responsibilities

  • Have the ability to cultivate relationships with clients, builders and contractors to sell and develop future cabinetry projects

  • Provide clients with professional design layouts using KCD software

  • Have industry product knowledge

  • Prepare proposals/quotes and close sales

  • Present designs, quotes and contracts to clients

  • Manage and organize customer files - Have 2-5 years of design and sales experience in the cabinet industry

Heronwood is looking for a self-motivated and detail-oriented Kitchen Designer Intern to join our team for the summer months. You will work closely with our Designers, clients, and builders to help create and design new functional and aesthetic spaces for homeowners. This is a great internship if you're looking to gain industry product knowledge.
