Q+A with Ann-Marie: Her 7 Most Frequently Used Kitchen Products
As the weather cools we’re spending more time indoors whipping up meals that bring comfort. With the kitchen becoming our go-to destination, Ann-Marie felt this was the perfect time to share her tried and true kitchen products.
Grab a cup of tea and hunker down for a little Q+A with our co-founder.
Q: Are you a coffee or a tea drinker?
AM: I’m obsessed with Starbucks Pike Place coffee, and my beloved Nespresso machine makes my morning cup so frothy and delicious. Maybe I should go make one for this interview…
Q: Does design come into play with what’s on kitchen countertops?
AM: Absolutely! Your countertop is open for the eye to see, which is why I love incorporating items that are both beautiful and functional. I love everything about etúHOME. From their vases to cutting boards, anything from them that you choose to display on your countertop will not only look amazing but will also serve you functionally for years to come.
Q: What should you consider when thinking about what appliances to buy?
AM: Really look at what your daily uses are going to be. I love the IQ Kettle from Breville because it holds 7 cups of water which is perfect for my big family. I chose their new black stainless finish because it looks really sharp in my coffee station, which allows me to keep it on the counter for easy access.
Q: What would you recommend to those looking to upgrade their kitchen essentials?
AM: Don’t be afraid to invest in some really key products. Instead of having five alright pots and pans, invest in one or two really amazing ones that will serve your needs and probably not need to be replaced within your lifetime. My go-to is the Dutch Oven from Le Creusel I can’t wait to pull it out this season as it’s so great for soups and stews.
Q: Are you a baker?
AM: I wouldn’t be without my KitchenAid Mixer.. If you have one, you know.
Q: Any tips on handling meals as a busy mom?
AM: “The New York Times Cooking No-Recipe Recipes” by Sam Sifton is my new favourite cookbook. I keep it on my counter to allow for some easy meal inspiration while I’m waiting for my coffee to brew, as it has so many tasty and simple go-to recipes.
Q: How do you keep your kitchen so tidy?
AM: While it may not always look super clean, the daily maintenance is helped by the Now Designs Ripple Dishcloths. These are my favourite dishcloths and dish towels. They’re simple, get the job done, and the large range of colour choices means you can tailor your pick to your kitchen design or change them up each season.
