From paint colours to countertop trends, no one knows it better than a professional interior designer. That’s why we are starting a new quickfire series called “Ask a Designer”. This month we asked one of our longest in house designers Megan some of our burning questions.

What colour of cabinets  do you love right now? Taupe and natural woods.

What hardware style is your favourite this summer?  Edge pulls because of their seamless, contemporary look.

What backsplash trends do you love? Full height quartz splash.

Favorite custom design addition you have done in the past at Heronwood? Built in cutting boards, garbage pull outs, appliance garage, charging station, knife drawers, custom cutlery dividers.

Favorite bathroom cabinetry colour?  Deep blues or greens (some of our favorites are Tarrytown Green, Newburyport Blue, Hale Navy).

What should clients include if they are looking for a high end cabinet design? Panel ready cabinetry, decorative end panels in kitchen island, decorative toe kick, stacked upper cabinets, large crown moulding, face frame cabinetry.

Secrets to designing a functional mudroom?  Open and closed storage with lots of hanging space.
